May 2004 regular meeting minutes

Officers present were President John Moore N1FOJ,VP Dale Clement AF1T,Secretary Don Curtis N1ZIH, Treasurer Scott Clay N1ZGO

 

1.     It is with deep regret that we announced the passing of Wilfred”Frenchy” French,K1DFQ. Gravesite services were held on Friday, May 14th at 1:00 pm. A motion was made and passed to send Louise, K1LAS Flowers and a card. Dale AF1T will write the card and present on behalf of the membership. Scott issued a check for $100.00 to Micki to buy flowers.

2.     After a round of introductions, Russ, KB1JCX presented a soldering symposium.

3.     Lee Scott, AA1YN gave a tech talk on the bias tee and its use.

4.     Lindsay K1JY gave a talk on converting a GE master II vhf radio into a repeater to be installed on Pat’s Peak as an upgrade on the 146.895 machine.

5.     Secretary’s report; No minutes for the April meeting. April business meeting minutes are on the club website. Report accepted.

6.     Treasurer’s report; Scott discussed the mail distribution list for the Key. Glen N1GAQ renewed his membership. Treasury balance is $2055.00.

7.     A motion was made and passed to add $200.00 from the general fund to the repeater fund for the installation of the master II repater.

8.     A motion was made and passed to authorize Lindsay to go ahead with the aforementioned repeater project.

9.     Ray Minichiello from the Marconi Museum donated some items to be sold at hosstraders and were sold for $115.00. These funds will be allocated to the field day fund.

10. Business meeting 7:00 pm May 25th at Dale’s home.

11. Refreshments; Don N1ZIH drinks and Cliff N1GJF food. Our next regular meeting will be at the Hopkinton town library on Tuesday, June 8th at 7:00 pm

The meeting was adjourned at 10:00 pm.
