CONSTITUTION
THE CONTOOCOOK VALLEY
RADIO CLUB
PREAMBLE
We, the undersigned,
wishing to secure for ourselves the pleasures and benefits of the
associations of persons commonly interested in amateur radio, do hereby
constitute ourselves THE CONTOOCOOK VALLEY RADIO CLUB and do enact this
constitution as our governing law. It shall be our purpose to
facilitate the exchange of information and general cooperation between
members, to promote radio knowledge, fraternalism and individual
operating efficiency, and to so conduct club programs and activities as
to advance the general interest and welfare of amateur radio in the
general community.
ARTICLE I
MEMBERSHIP
SEC. 1:
All persons interested in amateur radio shall be eligible for
membership. Membership shall be by application and election upon the
terms as the CLUB shall by its By-Laws provide.
ARTICLE II
OFFICERS
SEC. 1:
The officers of this CLUB shall be: a President, Vice-President, a
Secretary, and a Treasurer.
SEC. 2:
The officers of this club shall be elected for a term of one year by
ballot of the members present, provided there be a quorum, at the annual
meeting on the last regular meeting in December.
SEC. 3:
Vacancies occurring between elections must be filled by special ballot,
at the first regular meeting at which the withdrawal or resignation is
announced.
SEC. 4:
Officers may be removed on motion by a three-fourths vote of the
membership.
SEC. 5:
A Steering Committee shall
consist of the elected officers and any interested Club member in good
standing.
ARTICLE III
DUTIES OF OFFICERS
SEC. 1: The
President shall preside at all meetings of this CLUB, and conduct the
same according to the rules adopted; he shall enforce due observance of
the Constitution and By-Laws; decide all questions of order; sign all
official documents that are adopted by the CLUB; and none other; and to
appoint such committees as necessary to carry out the purposes of the
CLUB; and perform all customary duties pertaining to the office of
president.
SEC. 2:
The Vice-President shall assume all the duties of the President in the
absence of the latter.
SEC. 3:
The Secretary shall keep a record of the proceedings of all meetings;
keep a roll of members; submit application for membership; carry on all
correspondence; read communications at each meeting, except when excused
by action under By-Laws. He/she shall at the expiration of his/her term
turn over everything in his/her possession belonging to the CLUB to
his/her successor.
SEC. 4:
The Treasurer shall receive and receipt for all monies paid to the CLUB;
he/she shall keep an accurate account of all monies received and
expended. He/she hall pay no bills without proper authorization (by the
CLUB or its' officers constituting a business committee). At the end of
each quarter he/she seal submit an itemized statement of disbursements
and receipts. He/she shall at the expiration of his/her term turn over
everything in his/her possession belonging to the CLUB to his/her
successor.
SEC. 5:
The Steering Committee shall conduct routine business of the club.
ARTICLE IV
MEETINGS
SEC. 1:
The By-Laws shall provide for regular and special meetings. At
meetings, all present and voting members shall constitute a quorum for
the transaction of business.
ARTICLE V
DUES
SEC. 1:
The CONTOOCOOK VALLEY RADIO CLUB by majority of those present at any
regular meeting may levy upon the general membership such dues or
assessments as shall be deemed necessary for the business of the
organization within its object as set forth in the Preamble thereof.
ARTICLE VI
AMENDMENTS
SEC. 1:
This Constitution or the By-Laws may be amended by a two-thirds majority
of the CLUB members at the meeting, provided all members have been
notified by mail of the intent to amend the Constitution and/or the
By-Laws at a specified meeting. Proposals for amendments shall be
submitted to the President in writing.
ARTICLE VII
RULES
SEC. 1:
Robert's Rules shall govern all meetings.
