BY-LAWS
THE CONTOOCOOK VALLEY RADIO CLUB


SEC. 1 - SECRETARY

It shall be the duty of the Secretary to keep the constitution and the by-laws of The Contoocook Valley Radio Club and have the same with him/her at every regular and special meeting.  He/she shall cause all amendments, changes and additions to be noted thereon and shall permit the same to be consulted by members upon request.

SEC. 2 - MEMBERSHIP:

Applications for membership shall be submitted in writing and each application must express a willingness of the applicant to abide by the Constitution and the By-Laws and such rules as shall from time to time be promulgated by the Club.  Two-thirds of those present shall approve the applicant before he/she shall be considered elected to membership.

SEC. 2 a:

There shall be two classes of membership:
Full Member:  any person who is a duly licensed amateur by FCC;
Associate Member:  those persons interested in amateur radio but not licensed by FCC.

SEC. 3 - MEETINGS:

Regular meetings shall be held monthly at such time and place as the President shall order.

Special meetings may be called by the President upon written request of 1/5th of the club membership. Notices shall be sent to all the members informing them of the special meetings and the business to be transacted. Such notices shall be so sent that they are postmarked seven days in advance of the meeting date. Only such business as is designated in the said notice shall be transacted at such special meetings.

Between regular meetings there may be a meeting of the Steering Committee. At these meetings, club business will be discussed, organized and acted upon as to cause the business portion of regular meetings to be held to a minimum. It shall be the responsibility of the Steering Committee present to act prudently and in the best overall interest of the club. A minimum of 10% of the Club membership in good standing shall be present at meetings whereat a vote is taken to obligate the Club to a financial expenditure.  With the exception of emergency repairs to the club operating equipment and regular scheduled expenses, expenditures over $100.00 must be brought to a vote at a regular club meeting.

SEC. 4 - DUES:

A regular yearly assessment of $20.00 for Regular members, $10.00 for age 65 and older, and $5.00 for Associates is hereby assessed in accordance with the provisions of Article V of the Constitution for the purpose of providing funds for current expenses, due January 1st of every year.  Students (age 18 and under) will be afforded free membership.  Family Membership will allow additional members of a family to belong a one-half of the appropriate price.  Amateurs obtaining their first amateur license will be afforded one year free membership beginning with the date of the original license.  New member dues shall be pro-rated monthly, but shall not be less than $5.00, unless otherwise provided herein.

SEC. 4 a:

Non-payment of such dues for a period of one year shall be cause for expulsion from the club.  This provision may be waived by two-thirds of members present at a regular meeting.

SEC. 5 - DISSOLUTION

In the event of dissolution, hardware assets of the club will be donated to an individual or organization who pledges to maintain the equipment in place to serve the Amateur Radio Community and to support the Amateur Radio Emergency Service. The assets of the treasury will be donated to one or more active New Hampshire amateur radio clubs or organizations.
